Change your password regularly for better security. You can change your password yourself at any time.
Change password in profile
Step by step
- Click your name in the top right
- Select “Profile” or “Settings”
- Go to “Security” or “Password”
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password
- Confirm the new password
- Click “Change password”
Password requirements
Your new password must meet:
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Length | At least 8 characters |
| Uppercase letters | At least 1 |
| Lowercase letters | At least 1 |
| Numbers | At least 1 |
| Special characters | Recommended (for example !@#$%^&*) |
Create strong passwords
Good examples:
Summer2025!BerlinMyDog#Bello99C0ffee&Cake
Bad examples:
password123(too simple)12345678(numbers only)qwerty(keyboard pattern)
After the change
What happens?
- Your old password is invalid immediately
- You remain logged in in the current session
- Other sessions are logged out
- Next login: use the new password
Confirmation email
You receive an email confirming that your password was changed.
Important: If you receive this email but did not change your password, contact your administrator immediately.
Forgot password?
If you do not know your current password:
- Log out
- On the login page: click “Forgot password?”
- Follow the password reset process
Tips for secure passwords
Use a password manager
- 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, or similar
- Generate unique, strong passwords
- You only need to remember one master password
Change regularly
- Change the password every 3-6 months
- Change immediately if compromise is suspected
What to avoid
| Avoid | Why |

| Same passwords | If one is cracked, all are at risk |
| Personal data | Names and birthdays are easy to guess |
| Simple patterns | 123456, qwerty are known passwords |
| Writing down | Notes can be found |
Problems changing it?
”Old password incorrect”
- Check for typos
- Is Caps Lock enabled?
- Use the forgot password feature
”New password not accepted”
- Does the password meet all requirements?
- Is it long enough (min. 8 characters)?
- Does it contain uppercase and lowercase letters?
