Videos in courses

Videos are an important part of effective online courses. LernCampus24 supports uploading and streaming learning videos.

Upload a video

Step by step

1. Open the course in edit mode
2. Navigate to the video lesson or create a new one
3. Click “Upload video”
4. Select your video file
5. Wait until the upload is complete

Supported formats

MP4	Yes (best compatibility)
MOV	Yes
WebM	Yes
AVI	Will be converted

Size limits

• Maximum file size: Depends on your plan (typically 500 MB - 2 GB)
• Recommended resolution: 1080p (1920x1080)
• Recommended length: 5-15 minutes per video

Upload process

During upload

1. Progress bar: Shows upload status
2. Do not interrupt: Keep the browser tab open
3. After completion: The video is embedded automatically

After upload

The video is processed:

• Transcoding: Different quality levels are created
• Streaming optimization: For fast loading
• Preview image: Can be selected automatically or manually

Video settings

Preview image (thumbnail)

1. Click “Change preview image”
2. Select a frame from the video or
3. Upload your own image

Video title

Give the video a meaningful title that is shown in the lesson.

Manage videos

Replace a video

1. Open the video lesson
2. Click “Replace video”
3. Upload the new video
4. The old video is replaced

Note: Learner progress is retained.

Delete a video

1. Click ”…” on the video lesson
2. Select “Delete”
3. The video and the lesson are removed

Best practices for videos

Before recording

• Prepare a script: Plan the content
• Quiet environment: Avoid background noise
• Good lighting: Light faces evenly
• Stable microphone: Clear audio matters

During recording

• Speak slowly: Clarity comes first
• Share your screen: For software demonstrations
• Short segments: Prefer several short videos over one long video

After recording

• Edit: Remove unnecessary pauses
• Check quality: Review audio and video
• Compress: Optimize file size (for example with HandBrake)

Upload stops

1. Check connection: Is the internet stable?
2. File size: Is the file too large?
3. Format: Is the format supported?
4. Try again: Start the upload again

Video does not play

1. Wait for processing: This can take a few minutes
2. Reload the page: Refresh the browser
