How to analyze the performance of your courses

Course analytics

The analytics area gives you detailed insight into the performance of your courses.

Open analytics

  1. Go to Admin > Analytics
  2. Select “Courses” or “Top courses”

Top courses overview

Sorting

You can sort top courses by:

CriterionDescription
EnrollmentsNumber of assigned users
Completion ratePercentage of users who completed the course
ActivityLearning activity in the last 30 days

Metrics per course

For each course, you see:

  • Course title: Name of the course
  • Enrollments: Assigned users
  • Completed: Number of completions
  • Completion rate: Percentage
  • Average duration: Time until completion

Analyze a single course

  1. Click a course in the list
  2. You see detailed statistics

Progress distribution

What does the distribution show?

A chart shows how progress is distributed:

0-25%   ████████ 30%
26-50%  ██████ 20%
51-75%  ████ 15%
76-99%  ████ 15%
100%    ██████ 20%

Interpretation

Quiz results per course

If the course contains quizzes:

  • Average score
  • Pass rate
  • Frequently missed questions

Activity over time

A chart shows course activity:

  • New enrollments per day/week
  • Completions per day/week
  • Learning activity (viewed lessons)

Adjust time period

Select different periods:

  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days
  • Last 90 days
  • All time

Compare courses

Comparison view

  1. Select several courses
  2. Click “Compare”
  3. View the metrics side by side

Useful for

  • Compare similar courses: Which performs better?
  • New vs. old courses: Has the format improved?
  • Department courses: Which department learns more?
