How to create quizzes and exams for your courses

Quizzes and exams help verify what learners have learned and make learning success measurable.

Create a quiz

Add a new quiz

  1. Open the course in edit mode
  2. Navigate to the desired chapter
  3. Click “Add quiz” or “Add lesson > Quiz”
  4. Enter a title (for example, “Final test chapter 1”)

Quiz settings

Add questions

Question types

LernCampus24 supports different question types:

Multiple choice (single selection)

  • One correct answer from several options
  • Ideal for: knowledge questions, definitions

Multiple choice (multiple selection)

  • Several correct answers possible
  • Ideal for: more complex questions, “all that apply” questions

True/false

  • Evaluate a statement as true or false
  • Ideal for: quick knowledge checks

Create a question

  1. Click “Add question”
  2. Select the question type
  3. Enter the question
  4. Add answer options
  5. Mark the correct answer(s)
  6. Click “Save”

Design answer options

Good answer options

  • Clear: Easy to distinguish
  • Plausible: Even wrong answers should be credible
  • Similar length: Avoid making the correct answer longer
  • No hints: Avoid “all of the above” or similar wording

Mark the correct answer

  1. Click the check mark next to the correct answer
  2. For multiple selection: set several check marks

Manage questions

Change the order

  1. Hold the drag handle
  2. Drag the question to the new position
  3. Release to confirm

Edit a question

  1. Click the question
  2. Make your changes
  3. Click “Save”

Delete a question

  1. Click ”…” next to the question
  2. Select “Delete”
  3. Confirm

Set the passing score

How to set the threshold

  1. Open the quiz settings
  2. Enter the passing score (for example, 70%)
  3. Save the setting

Test the quiz

Use preview

Before publishing the course:

  1. Click “Preview” on the quiz
  2. Answer all questions as a test run
  3. Check the evaluation
  4. Correct any errors

Best practices

Write questions

  • Clear and unambiguous: Avoid ambiguity
  • Use positive wording: Avoid double negatives
  • Relevant content: Ask only about what was taught
  • Appropriate difficulty: Neither too easy nor too hard

Quiz structure

  • 5-10 questions: For chapter quizzes
  • 15-25 questions: For final exams
  • Mix: Combine different question types
  • Order: From easy to difficult

Give feedback

If enabled, you can add feedback to questions:

  • Correct answer: Confirmation and explanation
  • Wrong answer: Hint toward the correct answer
