How to analyze learning activity for individual groups

Group analytics

Analyze the learning activity and progress of individual groups so you can take targeted action.

Open group statistics

Via the groups overview

  1. Go to Admin > Groups
  2. Click a group
  3. Select the “Analytics” or “Statistics” tab

Via the analytics area

  1. Go to Admin > Analytics
  2. Select “Groups”
  3. Click the desired group

Group overview

Metrics per group

Course progress by group

Overview

For each assigned course, you see:

  • Course name
  • Members with access
  • Average progress
  • Completed (count)
  • In progress (count)
  • Not started (count)

Detail view per course

  1. Click a course
  2. View the progress of each member

Compare groups

Comparison view

  1. Go to Admin > Analytics > Groups
  2. Select several groups
  3. Click “Compare”

Typical analyses

Department comparison

Compare, for example:

  • Sales vs. marketing vs. IT
  • Location A vs. location B
  • Managers vs. employees

Onboarding analysis

For the group “New employees”:

  • How quickly are mandatory courses completed?
  • Where do new employees get stuck?
  • Which courses are rarely completed?

Analyze individual members

Member list

In group analytics, you see:

  • Name/email of the member
  • Individual progress (all courses)
  • Completed courses
  • Last activity

Identify anomalies

Time period filter

Narrow the analysis

Filter by time period:

  • Last 7 days: Current activity
  • Last 30 days: Monthly trend
  • Last quarter: Longer-term development

Reports for managers

What managers care about

  • Team performance: How is my team learning?
  • Compliance: Are mandatory courses completed?
  • Comparison: How does my team compare?

Export for meetings

  1. Create the desired analysis
  2. Click “Export”
  3. Use the CSV for presentations

Derive actions

If group progress is low

  1. Analyze causes: Time? Motivation? Relevance?
  2. Communicate: Inform the group and emphasize importance
  3. Support: Enable learning time
  4. Reminders: Activate automatic notifications

If group progress is high

  1. Praise: Acknowledge success
  2. Best practices: What is this group doing right?
  3. Transfer: Apply successful approaches to other groups
